Originally opened in 1935 by Silas Christian Devill, and passed on to his son Silas Felicitas Devill upon his death, now owned and run by Silas Oliver Devill.
The Motel used to be the place to be, a one stop shop for passing vacationers and tourists. Boasting 20 modern and spotless rooms with conditioned air and televisions, and fun activities for the whole family including the olympic sized swimming pool, an outdoor gym and tennis courts. One could lounge by the pool sipping on drinks served by one of the many members of the dedicated staff while the children played safely in the pool watched over by experienced lifeguards.
Life was a grand party at the Devill Motor Lodge. Then came way and recessions which stripped away much of the American dream. People stopped coming by and the outdoor gym rusted away from disuse. People in town moved to bigger cities and the Lodge lost a lot of it's staff. The Motel doesn't look as pristine as it used to, though you can always find a clean bed and a working television, the AC can get a bit tempermental, but you could always cool off in that nice olympic pool. Until Margaret Deville drowned in it ten years ago. Her son, the new proprietor, Silas Devill filled it up and paved it over. Now it's just a vacant lot with cracked pavement where once you could hear the laughter of children and clinking of Mimosa glasses.
You will rarely see a family here anymore, just drifters and truckers and people passing through, no one that cares, no one that will remember the way the Devill Motor Lodge used to be. Nothing remains of the old pace buy faded dusty pictures hanging on the lobby walls of better days.
